It is time to discover the beauty and art that exist in your very own home! Today's activity is an art hunt in your own house! You can use an instant camera, a phone/tablet or paper and colored pencils. Take photos or draw some of the items you find!
Below are some things to search for on your kiddo’s hunt. This activity provides a great opportunity to discuss feelings, things that make your kids happy and scared. Looking for a fun activity that involves sensory skills and science?
Supplies:
1. Place toys in the tray 2. Mix water with food coloring 3. Pour into the tray Once the cubes are frozen let the fun begin. Kiddos can add water to speed up the melting process. You can also place the objects outside to melt. If it’s bath time try placing frozen cubes into the bath. Need a way to transform your space? Supplies:
This activity is easy and fun. Its a great way to work on colors, sorting, patterns, and math skills.
Supplies:
1. Have your kiddo help place strips of masking tape on the ground parallel to each other 2. Place different colors of construction paper at the end of the tape 3. Ask you kiddos to name each color then send them on a scavenger hut around the house to find objects 4. Try placing them placing them on the correct line. *This activity is a great way to practice basic math. Turn it into a game. Try timing each other to see who can find the most objects and correctly place them. Doing some spring cleaning while you're at home? Here's a fun way to recycle all of those broken crayons. Supplies:
1. Peel the labels off of the crayons (Try soaking them in water to help with the peeling) 2. Break the crayons into pieces 3. Place the pieces in the molds and bake for 15-20 minutes 4. Let them cool then create your masterpiece *This activity is a great way to learn about primary colors and mixing colors. Have your kiddo practice writing words with their new crayon.
